이미지를 CD로 구우신 후
시디 롬에 CD를 넣으면 보이는 처음 화면입니다
각 항목에 대한 개략적인 설명은 아래에 이어집니다
Windows XP SP3 - 윈도우 XP를 설치합니다 위 화면이 지난 후 위 검은 화면이 없어지면 설치가 시작됩니다 이후는 Aero CD의 일반적인 설치와 동일합니다 BOOT Auto Ghost '첫 번째 디스크'라는 것은 메인보드의 CMOS 환경에서 보이는 위 그림의 간단한 설명은 3번 은 2번에서 백업한 고스트 파일(Ghost.GHO)을 가지고 자동으로 복원하는 방식 아래는 '파티션' 모드로 백업한 고스트 이미지를 복원이나 백업을 마친 후 보이는 화면입니다 설치를 모두 마치시면 위에서 백업, 시스템 복원 항목을 클릭하면 검색 항목을 클릭하면 보이는 BOOT Mboot 1.8.3 아래의 그림들은 추가 드라이버 파일
BOOT Drive C: - C 드라이브로 부팅합니다 (기본 선택)
BOOT Auto Ghost - 자동 고스트를 사용해 파티션 및 디스크를 백업, 복원합니다
BOOT Gdisk - '고디스크'와 '파티션매직'을 이용한 백업, 복구, 파티션 작업을 합니다
BOOT DOS Tools - DOS 용 프로그램을 사용합니다
BOOT Mboot 1.8.3 - 컴퓨터의 트러블이나 유지, 관리를 위해 프로그램을 이용한 각종 작업을 하실 수 있습니다
(아래의 해당 링크를 참조하시길 권해 드립니다)
키보드의 화살표 키를 이용해 "Windows XP SP3" 항목을 선택하신 후
엔터 키를 눌러 윈도우 설치를 시작합니다
설치가 진행되면 재부팅이 몇 번 이루어지며
재부팅이 될 때마다 "BOOT Drive C:" 항목이 기본으로 선택되어집니다
엔터 키를 누르시거나, 아무 것도 만지지 않으시면
10초 후 하드 디스크로 자동 진입합니다
아래는 설치 초기 화면입니다
아래 그림처럼 드라이버에 맞는 컴퓨터의 장치를 검색하는 동안
검은 화면이 사용하시는 컴퓨터의 환경에 따라
수 분 동안 지속될 수 있습니다
다음 화면이 보일 때까지 기다리시면 됩니다
(아래의 "이후의 설치 화면 보기" 참고)
아래는 CD의 설치 파일을 하드 디스크로 복사한 후
재부팅, 드라이버 팩을 추출.설치하는 모습입니다
아래의 링크를 참조하시면 될 듯합니다
부팅이 가능한 물리적인 첫번째 하드 디스크(통상 C 드라이가 있는 디스크)를 말하고
'파티션'이라 것은 물리적인 하드 디스크를 2개 이상으로 나눈 상태의 각 부분을 지칭합니다
('첫 번째 디스크의 첫 번째 파티션' 이란 것은
부팅이 되는 물리적인 하드 디스크를 두 개 이상으로 나눈 경우, 첫 번째 파티션-통상 C 드라이브를 지칭-을 말합니다)
1번 은 아래 그림의 고스트를 사용자가 직접 조작하는 수동 방식
2번 은 위의 설명대로 첫번째 디스크(디스크 0)의 첫번째 파티션을
자동으로 첫 번째 디스크(디스크 0)의 두 번째 파티션에 백업하는 방식
(통상 C 드라이브의 내용을 D 드라이브에 백업합니다만, 하드 디스크가 2개 이상일 경우에는
첫번째 디스크(디스크 0)의 두 번째 파티션의 드라이브 문자가
윈도우에서는 D가 아닌 다른 문자로 보일 수 있습니다)
하드 디스크가 2개 이상 있는 컴퓨터의 경우
위에서 2번을 선택해 백업을 하셨을 경우
윈도우에서 보시면 F 드라이브에 백업 파일(Ghost.gho)이 있습니다

아래 그림은 물리적인 하드 디스크가 세 개 있는 경우의
윈도우 디스크 관리(diskmgmt.msc) 모습입니다
디스크 0 이 물리적인 첫 번째 하드 디스크이고
디스크 1 은 물리적인 두 번째 하드 디스크입니다
아래 그림처럼 각 물리 디스크의 첫 번째 파티션에 드라이브 문자가 우선적으로 할당되고
각 물리 디스크의 나머지 파티션에 차례로 드라이브 문자가 할당된 것을 보실 수 있습니다
물론, 인위적으로 차례대로 문자 할당을 할 수 있지만
윈도우에서는 기본적으로 아래 그림처럼 드라이브 문자 할당이 된다는 것을 참고하시면 될 듯합니다
간단하게 사용하시려면
2번을 선택하셔서 자동으로 백업하시고
나중 문제가 생겼을 경우, 3번을 선택하셔서 자동으로 복원하시면 됩니다
1번의 수동 방식 이외에는 백업이나 복원 작업이 모두 자동으로 이루어집니다
아래는 위에서 백업이나 복원을 하셨을 경우 보이는
고스트 화면입니다

아래 그림처럼 'Reset Computer' 를 클릭하면 재부팅이 됩니다

보통 운영체제가 설치된 C 드라이브를 선택합니다
아래 그림처럼 C 드라이브 앞에 체크를 해줍니다
("Disk 1" 을 선택하면 MBR까지 모두 백업이 됩니다, 권장)
'Create new backup archive (새 백업 만들기)' 앞에 체크를 해줍니다
Acronis TrueImage 는 증분 백업(Incremental Backup)을 지원합니다
위와 같이 전체 백업을 하나 완성해 두었다면
다음에 백업할 때에는 또다시 전체 백업을 할 필요없이
Add to existing backup archive를 선택한 뒤
이미 완성되어 있는 백업 이미지를 지정만 하면
뒤에 (2), (3).. 과 같은 숫자가 자동으로 붙으면서
증분 백업된 파일이 생성됩니다
증분 백업은 원래의 백업 이미지에서 변한 부분만 찾아 백업하는 기능이므로
이미지 크기가 아주 작고 작업 시간도 적게 걸리는 이점이 있으며
증분 백업한 파일을 만든 시기에 따라
선택적으로 백업 시점을 찾아 되돌릴 수 있기 때문에
대단히 유익한 기능입니다
백업 파일이 저장 될 위치와, 백업 할 파일의 이름을 지정해 줍니다
아래 그림처럼 차례로 옵션을 설정하실 수 있습니다
Options으로 들어가서 (왼쪽) What to exclude를 선택합니다
이 의미는 시스템 파티션을 백업하는데 이미지에 포함할 필요가 없는
파일이나 폴더를 정하라는 것입니다
쓸데없는 가비지 파일이나 임시 파일들이 백업 이미지에 함께 저장된다면
시간도 오래 걸릴 뿐만 아니라 저장 이미지의 크기도 커지게 됩니다
그래서 몇 가지를 빼보기로 합니다
Exclude Files matching the following criteria 에 체크표시를 한 뒤
오른쪽의 Add 버튼을 누르면 대화상자가 나오는데
여기에서 제외하고자 하는 폴더와 파일의 절대 경로를 입력합니다
(제외하고자 하는 파일이나 폴더의 등록은
Tools & Utilities - backup options - What to exclude 에서 해야
백업할 때마다 매번 지정하는 번거로움이 없습니다)

이렇게 세 가지는 이미 TrueImage에서 Default로 제외하도록 정해져 있습니다
와일드 카드 문자를 사용할 수 있음을 염두에 두시기 바랍니다
다음은 직접 제외하려고 입력한 부분입니다
C:\pagefile.sys → 페이징 파일입니다
이 파일은 윈도가 부팅하면 자동으로 만들어 지도록 되어 있습니다
백업 이미지에 포함될 필요가 전혀 없습니다
램의 크기에 따라서 pagefile 의 크기도 엄청 클 수 있습니다
아예 pagefile 이 형성되지 않도록 지정하시는 분들도 계시지만
뭐... 저는 만들어 놓고 사용합니다
C:\hiberfil.sys → 최대 절전 모드 사용시 생기는 Hibernation 파일입니다
최대 절전 모드를 Off 하시면 이 파일이 생기지 않으나
최대 절전 모드를 요긴하게 사용하시는 분들께서는 거의 램 용량 만큼 크기의
hiberfil.sys 라는 파일이 C 드라이브에 생성됩니다
이 파일 역시 백업 이미지에 포함될 필요 없으며
부팅시 자동으로 생성됩니다
C:\System Volume Information\ → 윈도의 복원 파일이 저장되는 숨김, 시스템 속성의 폴더 입니다
보통 윈도 업데이트를 하거나 프로그램 설치, 제거 중에 자동으로 복원 이미지를 이 폴더에 저장합니다
이 폴더 내의 복원 이미지도 백업 이미지에 포함할 필요 없습니다
일반적으로 폴더의 내용을 백업 이미지에서 제외하고 할 때에는
폴더 이름의 마지막에 반드시 '\' 구분자를 붙여 주어야 합니다
이 공간도 꽤 큰데 이렇게 제외 폴더로 정하여도 TrueImage 백업 이미지에 포함이 되는 경우(버그?)도 있습니다
CCleaner 같은 무료 유틸로 이 System Volume Information 의 백업 파일들을 삭제한 뒤
TrueImage 로 백업하면 더욱 산뜻하겠죠
'Proceed' 를 클릭하시면 곧바로 백업이 시작됩니다
기존의 백업 파일을 지정해줄 수 있습니다
복구 옵션을 선택해 복구할 수 있습니다
파티션을 복구할 경우는 아래 그림처럼 반드시
디스크와 파티션 항목(Recover whole disks and partitions)을 선택하셔야 합니다
아래 그림처럼 C 드라이브 앞에 체크 표시를 해줍니다
'Proceed' 를 클릭하시면 곧바로 복원이 시작됩니다

로딩 후 첫 화면입니다. OS가 설치되어 있는 시스템 파티션을 백업해 두고자 합니다.
위 붉은 박스내의 My Disks를 선택합니다
파티션이 아닌 특정 파일이나 폴더를 백업해 두시려면
바로 오른쪽의 Files & Folders를 선택해야 합니다
시스템에 달려 있는 저장 장치들이 나열됩니다
OS를 백업할 예정이므로 위와 같이 System Reserved 파티션과 OS 설치 파티션을 모두 체크하여 선택합니다
Windows 7에서 System Reserved 파티션은 드라이브 문자가 없는 부팅 파티션입니다
이 부분을 같이 백업하지 않으면 복원 뒤 부팅이 되지 않습니다
저 처럼 Disk 1 을 모두 선택하면 MBR까지 모두 백업이 됩니다
Next로 넘어갑니다
처음 백업을 시도하면 위에서 처럼
Create new backup archive 를 선택하고 아래 박스에서 보이듯
백업 이미지를 저장할 장소와 백업 이미지 이름을 임의로 적어줍니다
저는 시스템 파티션 백업 이미지 명을
WindowsSe7en, x64, Ultimate, English판, AHCI 모드이고
기타 프로그램도 모두 설치했다는 의미의 Full, 파티션 이름인 Se7en_OS까지 달아 정했습니다
나중에 옵션 단계에서 이미지에 메모를 붙일 수 있기 때문에
이렇게 복잡한 이미지 명을 달 이유는 전혀 없습니다만
저는 직관적으로 알아 볼 수 있도록 보통 이렇게 붙입니다
나중에 백업 파일이 많아지게 되면 각 파일들을 구분하고
정리할 나름대로의 방법이 필요합니다
Acronis TrueImage 는 증분 백업(Incremental Backup)을 지원합니다
위와 같이 전체 백업을 하나 완성해 두었다면
다음에 백업할 때에는 또다시 전체 백업을 할 필요없이
Add to existing backup archive를 선택한 뒤
이미 완성되어 있는 백업 이미지를 지정만 하면
뒤에 (2), (3).. 과 같은 숫자가 자동으로 붙으면서
증분 백업된 파일이 생성됩니다
증분 백업은 원 백업 이미지에서 변한 부분만 찾아 백업하는 기능이므로
이미지 크기가 아주 작고 작업 시간도 적게 걸리는 이점이 있으며
증분 백업한 파일을 만든 시기에 따라
선택적으로 백업 시점을 찾아 되돌릴 수 있기 때문에
대단히 유익한 기능이라 하겠습니다
Next 로 넘어갑니다
여기에서 Proceed 를 누르면 바로 Backup 작업이 시작되고
4~5분 뒤에 백업이 완료 됩니다
그런데 Proceed로 나아가기 전에 잠시
Options 을 선택해서 들어가 봅니다
Options으로 들어가서 (왼쪽) What to exclude를 선택합니다
이 의미는 시스템 파티션을 백업하는데 이미지에 포함할 필요가 없는
파일이나 폴더를 정하라는 것입니다
쓸데없는 가비지 파일이나 임시 파일들이 백업 이미지에 함께 저장된다면
시간도 오래 걸릴 뿐만 아니라 저장 이미지의 크기도 커지게 됩니다
그래서 몇 가지를 빼보기로 합니다
Exclude Files matching the following criteria 에 체크표시를 한 뒤
오른쪽의 Add 버튼을 누르면 대화상자가 나오는데
여기에서 제외하고자 하는 폴더와 파일의 절대 경로를 입력합니다
(제외하고자 하는 파일이나 폴더의 등록은
"Tools & Utilities"-"backup options"-"What to exclude"에 해야
Backup할 때마다 매번 지정하는 번거로움이 없습니다)

*.tib
이렇게 세 가지는 이미 TrueImage에서 Default로 제외하도록 정해져 있습니다
와일드 카드 문자를 사용할 수 있음을 염두에 두시기 바랍니다
다음은 직접 제외하려고 입력한 부분입니다
C:\pagefile.sys → 페이징 파일입니다
이 파일은 윈도가 부팅하면 자동으로 만들어 지도록 되어 있습니다
백업 이미지에 포함될 필요가 전혀 없습니다
램의 크기에 따라서 pagefile 의 크기도 엄청 클 수 있습니다
아예 pagefile 이 형성되지 않도록 지정하시는 분들도 계시지만
뭐... 저는 만들어 놓고 사용합니다
C:\hiberfil.sys → 최대 절전 모드 사용시 생기는 Hibernation 파일입니다
최대 절전 모드를 Off 하시면 이 파일이 생기지 않으나
최대 절전 모드를 요긴하게 사용하시는 분들께서는 거의 램 용량 만큼 크기의
hiberfil.sys 라는 파일이 C 드라이브에 생성됩니다
이 파일 역시 백업 이미지에 포함될 필요 없으며
부팅시 자동으로 생성됩니다
C:\System Volume Information\ → 윈도의 복원 파일이 저장되는 숨김, 시스템 속성의 폴더 입니다
보통 윈도 업데이트를 하거나 프로그램 설치, 제거 중에 자동으로 복원 이미지를 이 폴더에 저장합니다
이 폴더 내의 복원 이미지도 백업 이미지에 포함할 필요 없습니다
일반적으로 폴더의 내용을 백업 이미지에서 제외하고 할 때에는
폴더 이름의 마지막에 반드시 '\' 구분자를 붙여 주어야 합니다
이 공간도 꽤 큰데 이렇게 제외 폴더로 정하여도 TrueImage 백업 이미지에 포함이 되는 경우(버그?)도 있습니다
CCleaner 같은 무료 유틸로 이 System Volume Information 의 백업 파일들을 삭제한 뒤
TrueImage 로 백업하면 더욱 산뜻하겠죠
Proceed...
이렇게 해서 작고 가벼운
백업 이미지가 완성이 되었습니다
윈도가 꼬이거나 뭔가 마음에 들지 않아 이전으로 되돌리고 싶다면
TrueImage 가 이 복원 이미지를 이용, 복원 시점으로 그대로 돌려줍니다
먼지 하나 다른 것 없이 그대로.. 불과 3-4분 만에
Rescue Disk 를 만들어 두고 XP, Vista, Windows 7, Linux 등의 백업 이미지를 떠 두었다면
단 3~4분 만에 OS를 오고 갈 수 있습니다

Wow CD, Mult CD 만드신 분들께 DOS용과는 별도로 윈도우 용으로 추천할 만 듯합니다
용도 대비 용량도 좋아서 추천합니다
아래 그림은 CD 부팅 후의 윈도우까지 입니다
(20초 미만, 물론 시스템 별로 유동성이 있습니다)
이런 저런 프로그램없이 단순하게 트러블 해결 용인 듯한 것이 강점 같습니다

USB 메모리에 Hiren's BootCD 넣어 부팅하기
1▶ Hiren;s bootcd를 준비합니다
2▶ USB_TOOL_SETUP_1_1.exe 다운을 받습니다 (구글링, "HP USB TOOL")
3▶ extract-boot-file을 다운받아 압축을 풉니다

4▶ 1에서 준비한 Hiren's.BootCD.9.5.iso파일을
3번 압축을 푼 폴더의 bootusb폴더에 iso파일 자체로 복사(이동)합니다
5▶ 3번 압축을 푼 폴더의 Get_Boot_Files.cmd 파일을 실행합니다
C:\USB 폴더에 Win98용 Booting 파일들이 생성됩니다
6▶ winimage나 utlraIso 등의 프로그램을 이용해 Hiren's.BootCD.iso 파일을
open하여 C:\USB폴더에 추출합니다
모두 추출해도 되고 Bootcd폴더(sub폴더포함)만 추출해도 됩니다
7▶ 2번에서 다운받은 usb tool step 프로그램 설치 후 실행합니다
파일 시스템 : fat32 선택
디스크 이름 : 아무렇게나 (예 SOS)
포멧설정 : DOS 부팅디스크 만들기
DOS 파일시스템 위치 지정 : C:\Program Files\HP USB TOOL\WIN988
시작을 누르면 일단 booting 가능 usb가 만들어 집니다
8▶ 6번에서 만들어 놓은 c:\usb폴더 내용을 usb 장치에 복사합니다
이때 io.sys와 msdos.sys는 덮어쓰기 하지 않습니다 (덮어쓰면 부팅이 안 됩니다)
9▶ usb 부팅 후 hiren menu 뜨고 menu 선택시 유틸리티들이 잘 실행되는지 확인
